Let’s Talk BCAA’s + GIVEAWAY

Happy Saturday to you!! How is everyones weekend going so far? Life has been h-a-p-p-e-n-i-n-g over here with JoMarie starting daycare and me going back to work. This coming week begins our craziness of trying to find my new balance between working full time, taking two classes for my graduate program, being a new mommy, and fitting in everything else I love. Bring it ON! Being busy just means you are blessed right?! 😉 We will go with that! Welllllll, I have some goodness to share with you all today. Let’s talk all about BCAA’s.

Maybe we can start with what the heck that even stands for. Branch Chain Amino Acid’s. I will never forget the first time I heard of this product. I was working out a few years ago and often bought a smoothie at the gym smoothie bar. The guy working the smoothie joint was always full of knowledge and was a “health freak”.  One day I asked him what I could do to increase my workouts and results. I was already working out often, taking my pre-workout and protein drinks, and was doing pretty high intensity workouts but felt I was just in a rut with my results. He told me to drink BCAA’s throughout my workouts. He explained them to me as “they will help your muscles work at their full capacity throughout your workouts, which will help you gain more lean muscle and help those muscles recover correctly”. This is often how I explain BCAA’s to others when they ask me about them. But let’s go into a little more detail as I really want to express how much I love them and honestly feel they make SUCH a difference.

BCAAs are important for both muscle growth and recovery. IdealLean BCAAs maximize recovery and endurance, they also pack in a fat-loss blend to help you stay lean and build lean muscle, and also contains coconut water powder to help you stay hydrated. What really impressed me specifically with IdealLean BCAAs is the fact that they contain 0 calories, 0 sugar, and 0 fat. WHAT?!?

You can honestly drink BCAA’s whenever you want! I personally enjoy drinking them throughout my workout but you can drink them post-workout or even just throughout your day. I am so excited how BCAA’s have made a difference in my workouts, I want to share this goodness.

I am giving away an IdealFit shaker bottle with samples of BCAA’s. All you need to do to enter is comment on this post and tell me something you are doing this weekend that makes you happy. One randomly selected winner will be selected next Wednesday 🙂 Also I have a new code for you guys. Use code MyGoodness at checkout for any IdealFit or IdealShape products and you can get 10% off your entire order. OH and I don’t think I mentioned, our IdealFit BCAA’s are on major sale right now!

If you have any questions at all let me know 🙂 I do NOT share anything I have not tried and do not absolutely love and thats a promise! Have a great weekend ladies and do something that makes you feel happy this weekend! Maybe that’s sleeping in a little longer, pushing yourself to try a new workout, or starting a new book. It really is the smallest actions that make the biggest difference in our happiness.

Core Challenge:: Protein GIVEAWAY

Good Morning! Today’s post is all about the August Core Challenge I put together and the Giveaway that IdealFit is teaming up with my blog for!

WOOHOO to all of you who are rocking this Core Challenge. So many of you grabbed a friend or a significant other to do this one with you and that makes me so happy. That’s what it’s all about right, SHARING the goodness 😉 Keep up the good work and finish this challenge off strong! I have a fun full body challenge coming your way for September and it’s not one you want to skip out on. Nick and I will be doing this one together as it’s another great challenge to take on with someone else.

I did a decent job of sticking with all of you for the core challenge. Keeping the little lady in my belly top priority, I never do anything that my Doctor is not okay with, or that feels uncomfortable for me.  I feel really blessed to be able to workout my entire pregnancy so far, I don’t want to test my limits too much! I did have to skip out on the Crisscross core exercise as that one started to feel odd to me so I switched in some more plank work instead.

As promised, it’s time to giveaway some goodness to go along with this challenge! IdealFit is sponsoring this giveaway and one of you will get a tub of their birthday cake protein and a couple other winners will get some other fun goodies! All you have to do to enter this one is…

1) comment on this blog post and tell me what core exercise you dreaded most throughout this challenge 😉

2) go follow @idealfit on EITHER Facebook or Instagram

3) go follow @jordynashleyfitness on Instagram IF you have an Instagram account. If not, you can still enter this giveaway by doing steps 1-2

The winners will be announced in Friday’s GOODNESS post 🙂 Also ladies today is your LAST day to get 30% off all Ideal Fit protein, including their new Strawberries ‘N Cream flavor!! Head on over to THIS link to stalk up!!

Thanks for stopping by and for taking on the challenge. You are all so awesome and make me love what I do even more!!

31 Day Core Challenge:: & GIVEAWAYS

I cannot believe tomorrow is AUGUST already?!? Let’s continue to stay active and be the best versions of ourselves this month by taking on my 31 day core challenge. Many of you requested a core challenge so here we go 🙂 These workouts can be done anywhere and only a couple of the moves use a dumbbell but that is always optional! I encourage you to take a look at the specific exercises throughout this challenge and read the specific’s on each move further down in this post before getting started TOMORROW. Grab a friend to do this challenge along with to keep each other accountable and hit tomorrow strong and never look back 😉

IdealFit has partnered up with My Goodness Blog for this challenge and we will be giving away tub of IdealFit’s new protein IdealLean Birthday Cake flavor (it is seriously my dessert each day, so good!), along with some other fun giveaways throughout the month.  Keep checking in on the blog throughout the month to learn how to enter each giveaway. The FIRST giveaway is for sample packs of IdealLean protein that I will mail to you 🙂 To enter this giveaway all you need to do is comment on this blog post about anything you want! August Challenge

I will be doing this challenge along with you all again! Because I’m pregnant, I will be modifying some of the core work where we lay on our backs (Doctors orders ;), but I will be doing the challenge each day with you all so if you have any specific questions, don’t be afraid to email me at mygoodnessblog@gmail.com

I will go through each specific move in this challenge below! Remember, every single move can be modified if need be.

#1- High Plank with Alternating Toe Touch: Start in a high plank, stabalize your weight and reach your left hand to your right foot, bring yourself back to a high plank and now reach your right hand to your left foot. This rotation would count as qty 2.  For example, if I tell you to do 12 #1’s that means you will touch your right foot 6 times and left foot 6 times.

image#2- Plank Jack- Start in a high plank and jump your legs out, and back in for a full plank jack.

IMG_8282#3- Leg Raise: Laying flat on your back, engage your core by slowly bringing your feet up to the air and lifting your behind if you are able.  Slowly bring your legs back down and right before your feet touch the ground, bring your legs back up for a second repetition. This is a continuous motion so if I say to do 10 #3’s, your feet will never touch the ground throughout the 10 repetitions.

IMG_8279#4- Crisscross: Laying back on your elbows, raise your feet in the air and cross your left foot over the right, separate, and now cross your right foot over your left. This rotation would count as qty: 2. So every time you cross a foot over another, that counts as 1.

IMG_8287#5- Mountain Climber: Keeping your back straight in a high plank, perform a constant motion of bringing your right knee to your chest, followed by your left knee to your chest. Each time you bring a knee to your chest, that counts as qty: 1.

IMG_8285#6- High Knees- You can do this in a running motion or slow it down to a walking motion. Keep your core tight and engaged and bring your knees up to your chest. Each time you raise a knee, that counts as qty: 1.

IMG_8286#7- Weighted Crunch: You can do this move with or without weight.  Lay on your back and bring your legs up in the air, with your arms up in the air holding your weight (or no weight).  Crunch upward and reach our weight or hands towards your feet.

#8- Plank Crunch: imagePosition yourself into a high side plank and with your free arm, crunch yourself down as if your elbows are going to touch. If I ask you to do 12 of these, you will do 6 on each arm, for a total of 12.

IMG_8283#9- Russian Twist: This can be done with or without a weight. Bring your feet up in the air, and try not to move them throughout your constant twist motion from side to side. Keep your core tight and twist from side to side as far as you can, focusing on your obliques.

imageAlright you guys!!! Let’s rock this challenge!!! For those of you I know are taking on the challenge, I will be checking in with you 🙂 For those of you running this challenge with small groups or at your gyms, be sure to email me for some goodies! Day 1 tomorrow!!

**Thank you IdealFit for partnering up with me for this challenge and thank you to my supportive husband for always being down to take these pictures for me**

Weekly Goodness: Take 33

It’s FRIDAY and although the sun isn’t exactly beaming down, the rain has stopped and THAT is reason to smile today 🙂 I hope you have all had a great week! I had a week of no nigh class which was really nice and completely needed. It was a fun filled week of home inspections, crazy work week’s, and designing workout plans for some pretty awesome people who are taking their health and fitness to the next level… heck yes!!!

Congrats to Kathy Klauer who was randomly selected as the IdealLean Protein Giveaway winner 🙂 Kathy was emailed this morning and will be receiving her protein in the mail.

This week’s goodness is all over the place and very random! So we will do a camera roll addition where I overwhelm you all with some random pictures throughout the week, to help share some goodness with you. Enjoy some of my favorite things from this week.  Have such a great weekend and do something that makes YOU genuinely happy, whatever that may be for you.  Life is too stinking short to spend this weekend being anything other than happy and grateful!

p.s. many of you asked me where I got my little “E” necklace. I purchased this at Francesca’s which is one of my favorite little boutiques in our local mall.

IdealFit Protein GIVEAWAY

Happy Monday beauties!! How was the weekend? This was the first weekend in I cannot remember how long that we haven’t had some sort of project going on or a jammed packed weekend and we took FULL advantage. Between sleeping in, grilling out, catching up on House of Cards, and working out whenever we wanted, it was a successful weekend over here. I thought I would start this rainy week off with a Monday GIVEAWAY 🙂

I’ve raved on and on to you all about my protein of choice, IdealLean, made my the company, IdealFit.  You can find my review on their protein HERE and my review on all of their products I use, HERE.  I continue to be amazed with the results I see since using their clean and lean products and I get way too excited to tell everyone about them.  As I’ve mentioned before, I have tried many different proteins and pre-workouts but never any I have been 100% confident to share with my family, friends, clients, and followers.  That is why I probably come off a little bit obsessed 😉 but I really do love IdealFit’s line and what they are all about and NO I’m not being paid to say that, just spreading some honest GOODNESS. One of my favorite things about their protein is how affordable it is!

Well… drumroll please… IdealLean has partnered up with My Goodness for a giveaway! I know many of you are currently using their protein and love it and some of you have been hesitant to try it or just haven’t ordered yet.  Well, here is a chance to add some more protein to your stack or try it for the first time.  All you need to do to enter is visit the IdealLean website to decide on the flavor you would like, and comment on this blog post with what flavor you would like sent to you if you happen to be the lucky winner 🙂 The winner will be emailed Friday morning and announced on Friday’s “weekly goodness” post.

Ideal Lean Almond Protein Poppers

Monday Monday… hello you ugly little thing you 😉 How was everyone’s weekend?? We had a great time with family, celebrated our nephew’s 3rd birthday, and had a fun Sunday with our pups. Part of my weekend was trying out some super yummy Ideal Lean Almond Protein Poppers.

I was pretty pumped when IdealFit emailed me telling me about their new goodness!! They came out with a Protein recipe eBook. WHAT?!? I have tried some recipes on my own and I will be honest in saying…. I haven’t impressed myself all that much. SO, having IdealFit come out with this book has been pretty great. I’m going to share my take on all of the recipes that I try, with you all and today is all about their Almond Protein Poppers.

These took me maybe 8 minutes to make! Super easy and they are so good that I knew I had to share them. You know when people say use the words “healthy fats” that always used to confuse me. How can a food contain FAT but be HEALTHY? Well, it happens 🙂 Some foods are high in monounsaturated fats, and those reduce the risk of heart disease, along with many other positives! My favorite healthy fats are avocados and almonds and almonds happen to be the main taste of this recipe.

IdealLean Almond Protein Poppers

  • 1/4 cup almond butter
  • 1 TBSP coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 TBSP honey
  • 1 scoop vanilla IdealLean protein
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 TBSP semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 dash of salt

  1. Stir all ingredients together except chocolate chips.
  2. Add chocolate chips to mixture and stir again, just until combined. Using your hands, press firmly to form one-inch balls. Place in air-tight container and refrigerate until serving.

Calories: 89 | Protein: 3g | Carbs: 6g <—- here are the details on these little poppers of goodness. Grab one of these when you have a sweet tooth, they carry natural energy, and much healthier fat compared to the girl scout cookies or ice cream in your kitchen! Making healthy decisions with your diet doesn’t have to be just downing spinach, bananas, and grilled chicken. Trying new recipes is fun! Enjoy!!

IdealFit Protein

Hi ladies! I have had so many emails lately about what protein I use and the benefits of it, I thought it would be easiest to put a post together for you all to see 🙂 I will try to cover all of your questions but if I miss any, feel free to let me know!

Let me start by being completely honest with admitting that I have had a past with not being faithful. To my protein that is 😉 Throughout the years I have tried a handful of different brands, usually switching to the next before I even complete a container because I’m picky and very selective of what I put into my body. Although I have came across a couple brands that I do recommend and enjoy, I think I have FINALLY found my long term partner in protein 🙂 IdealLean, which is through the company IdealFit. Before I rave about my honest opinion on this specific protein, let’s back it up and discuss why I make the decision to drink protein and what I think the main benefits are!

First thing I want to express is that it doesn’t matter if you do the elliptical for 15 minutes every other day or you lift for an hour each day, protein is not just for body builders!!  I specifically drink a protein shake after each workout to help me continue to build stamina, recover my muscles after a good workout, preserve the muscles I have built by providing the adequate amount of nutrients, avoid injuries, lean out, and continue to reach my goals. So how does protein help with all of this?

Protein is used to help the production of muscles. They are also used to manufacture hormones, enzymes, cellular messengers, nucleic acids, and immune-system components. Without adequate protein, our bodies simply can’t pull together the structures that make up every cell, tissue, and organ, nor can it generate the biochemical substances needed for cardiovascular function, muscle contraction, growth, and healing. Without an adequate amount of protein our muscles wouldn’t heal up as quickly. Following your workout is a perfect time to get protein into the body so that the protein can be delivered to your muscles, to begin healing the “micro tears” (very small tears in the muscle tissue, caused by intense contraction of the muscle during workout) in the muscle. I personally do not use this protein as a meal replacement.

Many people think that they take in plenty of protein other ways, and that may be the case, but because solid food takes much more time to digest and to break down the protein and send it to the muscles, it makes much more sense to me to take a protein shake immediately following my workout, since protein shakes only take about 30 minutes to reach the muscle after ingestion. With all of these fun facts about protein and why it’s a huge part of my routine, let me also say, it is not for everyone & many people have their own reasons for not being protein shakers and I completely respect that, to each their own 🙂

So… why am I finally faithful with a protein?? It has always bothered me that so many proteins are filled with extra crap that I did not want! Extra fat, carbs, sugars, and many of them lack extra benefits I look for in my protein such as folic acid, vitamin D, and whey and IdealLean just so happens to fit all of those needs. I am incredibly impressed with IdealFit’s protein. 80 calories, 20g protein, 0 fat, 0 sugar, 0 carbs… unheard of! Also, it’s the first protein that I have consumed every single day and never get sick of the taste. It seriously tastes so good you guys and I couldn’t wait to share all of this goodness with you! IdealLean is designed specifically for women, as we have unique nutritional needs that differ from men (with this, nothing horrible will happen if your man has some of the thin mint protein cookies you make or protein pancakes) I have noticed results with this protein in a really short amount of time and I can’t really imagine a workout not followed by this goodness. It is SO easy to mix as well. Just a scoop with some almond milk in my blinder cup and I’m set! And I mean, Trainer Lindsey Mathews was a huge part in designing this product and I adore her so how could it not be amazing??

Right now and only through 2/16 you can get this protein for $39.95 which is pretty awesome being it is usually $69.99, you better believe I am stalking up. You can click on this link if you are interesting in trying some 🙂 https://idealfit.com/jordyn and NO I am not compensated or benefited in any way if you purchase this, other than the satisfaction that I could help you!! Both flavors are amazing so you can’t go wrong.

There is my little tidbit and piece of goodness for this beautiful Thursday!!
